Dietician Geeta Shenoy tells us why we should include this excellent fish in our diet. “Sardines are named after Sardinia, the Italian island where these fish were once found in abundance. Sardine is a common name used to refer to various small oily, silver-coloured, small-boned fish,” says Geeta. “Like Mackerel, sardine’s flesh is dense, rich and oily. Fresh sardines are often grilled, pickled, smoked or canned.
